Skydiving

You can prepare yourself for the pain of something if you know it's coming. You can psych yourself out in a plane ride to actually have enough guts to thrust yourself helplessly out of it once it reaches 10,000 feet and trust that the tandum instructor and parachute will function properly. You can feel safe. Because you've had time to prep. But when you're about to jump and then somebody expresses potential danger-your whole safety wall comes down and you're not feeling so confident anymore. Do you still jump? Almost getting married then backing out at the other person's doubts gives you the same stomach drop as a free fall...without the parachute safety net. (W&B)

Procrastination?

Sinning and procrastinating is like people that prepare for city trash haul days. They leave their pieces and piles of garbage on the side of the road only to wake and find that they are a day late, the trash man has already come and they are left with their own junk for the rest of eternity.

Popcorn (Whitney's first)

You see the popcorn, and you smell it and it makes your mouth water as you begin to crave the buttery, fluffy, delicacy of the popcorn on your tongue. Then, you taste it, and you find out you don't really like it because there's really nothing to it and you find yourself unsatisfied. Such is the case with most boys. (A. Moffit)

Band-aids

Staying in a relationship that you know has already run its course is like keeping a band-aid on a sore for too long. The longer it stays-the more pussy and festering it becomes. There comes a time when you must rip off the band-aid and let the sore heal itself. If air can't get to the wound, no healing will take place. (JW&Holly)
